Birth Control for Deer?

I think that this isn't right. I think that the deer population shouldn't be limited any more than it is because hunting is dwindling it already.  If you want to read the whole article go to www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/02/080219132149.htm

kelsey,

that was a great post but deer have no natural predators so the deer population really is thiriving not dwindeling. if people we not to control the deer population they would over populate then compleatly die out. so it is eather lose a few deers or lose them all

At first, this seems like a brilliant idea. However, when I learned a little more about the science behind it, I started to think it wasn't a useful solution (yet).

I was concerned when I read that the medicine would have to be taken DAILY throughout breeding season. This means you have to put out the food every day for however long that is, and that means the deer become (effectively) wild pets, eating food supplied by people. They're no longer wild deer. That would disrupt the natural ecosystem they have lived in for so long.

Is there any way around this problem?
